Cinderella meets Texas

Another shot of a horse drawn carriage going through downtown.  I have a fondness for areas that are lit up at night and a weakness for experiences that make me feel like I've gone back through time.. The beautiful white horse, the carriage fit for a princess and the small shops and street lights make for a great time. For anyone wanting a little bit of magic or romance, this is the way to go.
(This isn't the best shot but I liked the surroundings so much, I had to share anyway. )

Sidewalk Art

Happened to snap this picture at Palo Alto College when walking around. The students working on this allowed me to take this and didn't give me their names. The great thing about this drawing is how colorful and central it is to the campus. I'm sure many people saw it on their way to the student center. The only problem? It's chalk. Meaning this wonderful little picture of San Antonio was temporary and probably didn't last the week. Nonetheless, it's still beautiful. Kudos to the guys who drew this.

A brand new semester

In honor of the first week of a brand new semester of school, this is one of the Alamo Community Colleges, Palo Alto. I spent so many lazy afternoons sitting in the benches around this area, attempting to get work done but mostly eating and listening to music while enjoying being outdoors. Here's to another four months of late nights, coffee binges, sweatpants and heavy bags full of books. I may complain about it here and there but secretly, I love it.

Love and carriage

Walking around downtown, I stopped in front of the Menger Hotel before heading to the nearby mall and got this picture of one of the many horse-drawn carriages that go through the area. These are actually really common in the downtown streets but this particular horse and carriage brought back the memories of one of my favorite and most romantic nights in the city a few years ago. Although it is a bit of a tourist magnet, I loved being carted around the city in a beautifully lit carriage at night. I felt like a princess with my prince charming, even if the fairytale was short lived.

Alamo City

Here we go. My first post and picture. :)

I thought I would start off with what San Antonio is most known for, The Alamo. It really is a beautiful, although slightly creepy, place. I wanted to get the building at a different angle and without the usual tourists in front of it. It's pretty incredible to be in it's presence knowing the history and the events that took place there. Seeing it at night is especially beautiful but for some reason, this shot has a hold on me.

Welcome..

Here you will find daily (or almost daily) pictures of San Antonio, TX and the surrounding area. Known for the Alamo and the Riverwalk, San Antonio is beautiful and full of history. It's a place where American and Mexican culture mix together for a city so vibrant and full of beauty that you can't help but love it.

So whether you have been to San Antonio or not, hopefully this blog and this pictures can show you a glimpse of life here in the Alamo city.
